Accra (IBTimes.com) - South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun will hold summit talks next week with five African leaders during their visit in Ghana to attend a forum.
Roh will meet Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday to discuss "closer bilateral ties in the fields of energy, resources, plant construction and IT," his spokesman Yoon Tae-Young said.
The two countries will also sign a double taxation prevention agreement after the summit. Roh was to hold separate summits on Wednesday with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President John Agyekum Kufuor of Ghana, President Yayi Boni of Benin and Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso.
The visiting leaders will be in Korea for the first Korea-Africa Forum from November 7-9 under the agenda of "21st century Asia-Africa co-prosperity," the foreign ministry said. Roh proposed the forum after his visit to Nigeria in March this year.
It would discuss expanding practical co-operation between South Korea and Africa. About 30 cabinet-level officials and others from 20 African nations are expected to attend the forum.
