NEW YORK (Reuters) - CNET Networks Inc. on Monday said it had launched CNET TV, a Web site to broadcast news and product review segments, in the latest bid to take advantage of the rising popularity of Internet videos.

The company, a popular Web site for news and gadget reviews, also announced a partnership with Verizon Communications Inc. to distribute CNET's video segments through on-demand television.

It already has similar deals in place with Cox Communications and TiVo Inc. for its videos, which range from product reviews to breaking news and how-to segments.

CNET's announcement comes just days after it said its chairman and chief executive had resigned over his role in the company's backdated stock options. The same day, CNET cut its revenue outlook. Shares of CNET were down 2 cents at $9.25 in morning Nasdaq trade.
