Retailer Woolworths yr Sales Up 16.3 pct

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Food and clothing retailer Woolworths year sales to June jumped by 16.3 percent from the comparable 52-week period last year, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The company did not give a figure for its total sales for the year.
Comparable store sales growth was 9.9 percent, the retailer said. Sales for the Australian subsidiary Country Road unit were in line with our expectations, it added.
