Nairobi (IBTimes.com) - The tourist high season is setting in with several hotels at the Kenyan Coast gearing up to re-open.
Majority of hotels that had closed down have been refurbished and are ready to welcome visitors.
At the Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel, a state-of-the art spa centre has been put up and rooms expanded. In Watamu, the 200 roomed Club Temple Point, owned and operated by Venta Club is expected to take its first batch of 150 Italian tourists expected this week.
Resort manager, Isaac Rodrot says the hotel has been refurbished and more cottages added. The hotelier challenged locals to embrace domestic tourism to encourage the sector’s growth.
