Honeywell Enters Kenyan Market |

NAIROBI (IBTimes.com) - Honeywell Process Solutions has entered the kenyan market in a major expansion drive.
The firm’s regional general manager for Africa, Jason Whitehead, said the move was driven by the need to grow the business outside South Africa.
Honeywell Process Solutions, a division of Honeywell International, is a key player in industrial process automation and control solutions. The firm’s products and systems are used globally in some of the top oil refineries, power plants, mines, paper mills and chemical plants.
"We believe there are numerous business opportunities in the east coast of Africa and we have picked Kenya as our hub because of its developed infrastructure," Whitehead said in Nairobi on Thursday.
Whitehead was speaking after announcing a partnership between the company and Pegrume Ltd, a local telecommunications firm, that would enable the company provide services to production plants in various industries.
Pegrume is a subsidiary of Core Technology Group, which is also the holding company of Neotis, Finsoft Associates, Commercial Corporation and Commcarrier Satellite Services.
Pegrume is one of the oldest player in the IT industry boasting of over 75 years experience in voice and data segment. Core’s general manager, Heinah Muniu, said the decision to partner with the Honeywell was informed by the quest to stay ahead of the competition.
