Nairobi (AP) - Hyundai Motor America said Tuesday that April sales were essentially flat, as a sharp rise in Sonata sedan sales helped offset slumping sales across most other lines.
The Korean carmaker said April sales inched up to 41,025 from 40,958 in the year-ago month. Sales of its top-selling Sonata jumped 45.7 percent to 15,716 vehicles. The Accent sedan fell 13.2 percent to 3,491 cars; the Elantra slipped 19.1 percent to 9,121.
Adjusted to reflect one fewer selling day in the latest month compared to a year ago, sales rose 4 percent. For the year to date, total sales have risen 4.3 percent. Adjusted sales are up 5.3 percent.
